Ben Luff - Rising British Karting Talent

Ben Luff’s journey into the world of karting began in an unexpected, yet unforgettable way.

In 2022, at just 15 years old, Ben attended a birthday party at TeamSport Crawley, a casual outing that sparked a passion for speed and competition. Alongside his best friend, he returned to the track several times, quickly falling in love with the thrill of racing.

Tragically, that same year, Ben’s friend passed away unexpectedly. Before his passing, he left Ben a message that would change everything: “Go and be the next F1 champion – I’ll always be with you.”

Those words became Ben’s driving force. In honour of his friend, he committed himself to karting, not just as a hobby, but as a serious pursuit.

Dominating the Local Scene (2022–2024)

Between 2022 and 2024, Ben raced in an impressive 561 events with TeamSport, earning 383 podium finishes, including 207 wins (a remarkable 68.27% win rate!).

His performance in the British Indoor Karting Series (BIKC), run by TeamSport, saw him consistently rise through the ranks:

2022 – Local and Regional Champion

2023 – Local, Regional, and Grand Finals Champion

2024 – Local and Regional Champion (narrowly missed Grand Final podium, finishing 4th)

In 2024, Ben became the overall champion at TeamSport Crawley, sweeping every available trophy. His dominance didn’t go unnoticed, he was soon approached by the Southern Rental Karting Championship (SRK) and invited to join as a rookie driver.

Climbing the National Ranks

Joining SRK in March 2024, Ben wasted no time making an impact, scoring his first rookie win shortly after. Supported by GWCA Solicitors, Ben continued to rise, showing steady improvement throughout the season.

By the end of the year, he was promoted to the SRK1 Pro League, where he held his own among seasoned drivers:

2024 – Placed 25th out of 119 in overall standings and 5th in the Challenger Cup (out of 45 drivers) a huge achievement for a first year semi-pro

Breaking onto the European Stage

Ben’s upward trajectory didn’t stop in the UK. In October 2024, he competed in his first European event in Holland, finishing 73rd out of 110 drivers. Just months later, in January 2025, he represented Great Britain in the French Championships, finishing 62nd overall and 4th among 12 British drivers, a proud moment for both Ben and his supporters.

Back home, he also took part in the British Rental Kart Championship (BRKC), one of the most elite competitions on the circuit. Despite stiff competition, he secured 66th place out of 100 – not bad for a first-timer in one of the UK’s toughest fields.

A Promising 2025 Season

The 2025 season is shaping up to be Ben’s most exciting yet. He kicked things off strong with an 11th place finish in round 1 at Milton Keynes. After a rough second round, where he dropped to 35th, Ben bounced back heroically in Hereford – winning three heats and proving his resilience, despite being spun out in the final. That performance pushed him back up to 28th in the SRK standings out of 62 drivers.

Next up in 2025: Dunkeswell on 8th June, a brand-new track for Ben. Later in the year, he’ll once again represent Great Britain, this time in Poland on 31st August.
